The register
A record of works and their relations.
The catalogue presents works and their recorded relations. Entries link to their on-chain attestations for independent inspection. The catalogue is maintained manually; it is not automatically reconciled against the chain.
Where a copy of a work has been pinned — by the steward of this infrastructure or by EO1 — the entry records the content hash and the address at which it can be retrieved. Where no copy has been pinned, the work is either referenced elsewhere or held without a file. The relation is recorded either way.
Works enter by two routes. Contributions attested under EO1 are held under “No Rights”: a unilateral renunciation of exclusive rights, dedicated to the cultural commons. References to external works retain their own legal terms; the catalogue records the terms identified for them. Inclusion does not itself grant permission.
What the register preserves, in both cases, is declared lineage: the origins of a work and the iterations it has produced, as recorded by those who attest them. Attribution is the practice through which lineage stays visible, and through which the voice of a work persists across time and space. The register records that practice. It does not enforce it, and it does not require it. The register is non-discretionary and open to all.
